World’s Worst Boyfriend|Review

World’s Worst Boyfriend – Published 2021

“Fletcher is the “World’s Worst Boyfriend” and I have the trophy to prove it—along with the consolation gift card I’ve already spent.

Entering him into the anonymous contest was cathartic and eye opening. It’s obvious I need to end this farce of a relationship… so, I do.

Too bad I’m still comparing every man I meet to Fletcher.
Too bad I can’t get him out of my mind—or my house, for that matter, with the way he’s always stopping by to ‘fix’ something.
And it’s especially too bad that I’m learning not everything is as it seems, and that maybe, just maybe, Fletcher had a good reason for his actions. (Although, there is no justification for the moldy laundry.)

What’s a girl to do? He says he’ll explain everything soon. But am I ready to face that explanation? What if he’s really not the worst—what if I am?” – Goodreads

THOUGHTS

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this ebook! It’s SO cute, ya’ll!

I have not read the other books in this series, but this could absolutely be read as a standalone. I went into this totally blind and was pleasantly surprised about the premise; it’s perfect for a romcom. Saidy is successful and has been dating Fletcher for four months; Fletcher seems flaky, lazy and unappreciative. The idea of the world’s worst boyfriend comes from a podcast, which Saidy wins for nominating Fletcher. It’s easy to feel frustrated with Saidy for putting up with what she does, and it’s easy to dislike Fletcher for his actions. The alternating POVs help you to understand why Fletcher is acting this way, and why Saidy is willing to put up with what she does and doesn’t.

This is lighthearted and feel good; it is perfect for anyone who needs something that won’t leave them in tears or who’s in a reading slump. Taylor’s writing makes it a quick read, and has you rooting for the characters.
